Out of Stock !

"Out of stock !" is a top down local party game for up to 4 players

You and your friends play as supermarket employees tasked to handle customers and make sure they are satisfied from the opening to the closing.

The game is made for PC using Unity, with keyboard and gamepad support.

During this project, i was part of a team made of 3 designers, 5 artists, and 2 programmers, including myself. 

I mainly worked on player controllers, level interactions, and skin customization

Learning

This project was a great opportunity for me to learn how to set a proper code architecture, so i did my best to code an efficient and easy to use code base using interfaces, inheritance, and observer patterns. That way, me and my coworker could simply enable or disable behaviors depending on the context, and adapt our code based on designer feedback without having to scrap all of it.

Being focused on a few tasks rather than being overwhelmed with very diversed ones allowed me to spend some time cleaning up code, fixing up many bugs, and exploring haptic feedbacks to mimic the feel of in-game actions on the gamepad.




Production

Out of stock was orignally a frenetic 3 months student project in which we were tasked to create and upload a game to steam. 

We released the game as a demo version in april 2025 !
